Frida Kahlo

Frida Kahlo is considered one of Mexico’s greatest artists. She was born on July 6, 1907 in Coyocoan, Mexico City, Mexico. Frida’s artwork expressed her pain, torment, beliefs and love. Frida Kahlo self-portraits expressed her strength and vulnerability. In the painting Self-portrait with Cropped Hair (1940), Frida expresses her emotions on her marriage and divorce from Rivera and the loss she felt. One of Frida’s most famous paintings is Viva la Vida Watermelons, which she completely shortly before she died.
